It was about 8 weeks ago now that I had the opportunity to go with some people from our Church to go on a hike in an area called the Ceux-du-Van. After the worship service, 6 of us took the train from Neuchatel for a short 20 minute trip to a small town near the base of the Creux-du-Van. We were blessed with a beautiful day for hiking around this area which looks like a very large horse show in shape. We we hiking across the top when we came upon this mountain goat in the picture above. In French a mountain goat is referred to as a "chamois". It was amazing to watch him scamper both up and down the very steep and rocky area we were in!
We hiked for approximately 2 hours before we stopped for a wonderful picnic lunch complete with "bread, cheese, and chocolate, the three important food items eaten here. The food was great and the view was spectacular.
We then took another 2 hours or so to hike the rest of the way around the Creux-du-Van...and then we climbed back down to catch a train back home.
I certainly was blessed to have enjoyed such a wonderful day with great Suisse friends while being surrounded with God's splendor.
